Can H4 dependents work even as a volunteer???

hi,
i came to US 2 months back with my husband who is having H1 visa. We dint apply for green card as we dont want to stay here for long time. I came to know that we cant work here untill my husband gets EAD but we are not going to apply for GC. Can u suggest me even whether i can work as volunteer anywhere. If yes can you suggest me the areas where i can work as volunteer. Please do the needfull.

As long as you are truly going to work as a volunteer (and no under table manipulation, cash payment etc.), you are absolutely fine to work as volunteer.

e.g., you could work at a local community center.
