So what kind of H1B am I eligible for if I am working just 36 hours per week as a research scientist in a university? Full time What kind of H1B or part time H1B?

Employer can file a part-time H1B for you provided the Part-time employment is anything less than 35 hours. Your should be either making at least a living wage or the petition should be accompanied by proof that you have sufficient means to support yourself (proof of income of spouse, or savings).
