Can I try job before I join the company who filed my H1 Visa ?

Hi Team ,

I have a petition filed from one of the US company and my stamping is already done . There's still 1 month time to travel to US . My concern is below :

As I have signed a contract for 2 years with company before filing a petition , are there any chances I can switch company before I even join the company ? Are there any rules which is imposed on H1 saying its valid only if I work for the company who has filed ?

Please let me know if you guys have any experiences in this matter and legal link explaining the same if any .
