Regarding Service Certificate and GC processing...

Hi,

I am on H1B Visa with my current company.
I have worked with current company in India for nearly 2 years and in US nearly 10 months
Now, I have got an opportunity where the consultant says that he will start my GC processing(LC) in 2-3 months time.
I have put down my resignation papers in my current company.
Now, my current company says that they will not give me the service certificate if I resign at onsite.
This is also stated in the policy document.

Is service certificate necessary at any stage of GC processing?
I have all my documents clear with my all previous organisations.
Please help me take a decision.

>>> Yes. Experience letters are important for GC processing and for future H1B petitions. There are work around like getting a notarized letter from a colleague. But experience letter on the company's letterhead has more value.

Now one final question...
Few of my colleagues have got experience letters where in, at the end of the letter it is stated
"Reason for Relieving: Breach of Contract"
Now, is this going to be an issue in case of GC process or any future H1 process?

It will not have any impact. Employment contracts are pure illegal in U.S.
