H1B Extension Visa with passport expiring soon

Hi,

I am currently in US and my H1B extension got approved sometime back with the start date of October 2014. My H1B extension is valid till October 2017. I am planning to travel to India in Jan 2016 and will be going for visa interview then. My passport is expiring in August 2016. Will this be an issue when I go for visa stamping?

Would advise renewing the passport before visa stamping. You still have 2+ Months to travel. I-94 is issued only till passport expiry even if visa/petition are expiring beyond passport.
