Valid H4 visa but no valid H1

Hello,

Hope I get some help here.
My wife has valid Visa until 03/2016. She got it using H4.
Unfortunately I was laid off last year but fortunately I have EAD and AP. So I moved on to new job with EAD.
Before I join in a new job I took a trip back home India and re-entered into US using AP. I read somewhere that if I use AP, I lose my H1 status. ...

Now my wife is planning to take a trip to India.
Just wondering, can she use same h4 Visa to re-enter into US? Visa is valid until March 2016. She DOES NOT have AP.
Please help me if somebody know the answer.

As you are not on H1B, she is no longer on H4 visa.

No problem going to India, but for coming to USA, she needs to apply for EAD/AP first.
