h1b RE-STAMPING - SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

I am in the US now.
I was on an H1 visa when I got stamping in India but that has expired.
Now I am on a different H1.

I need to travel to France this summer and I have the following questions:
1. Is it safe to just book an appointment in France and plan to come back to the US?
2. Can I book two appointments - one in France and one in Chennai - so if I am denied visa in France I have a backup appointment in Chennai?
3. Is it advisable to try to get the visa in Canada before my France trip? If so, should I book a backup appointment in Chennai?

How long do you have time to get your H1 exist..

1) If your stay in france is legal for more then 5months,you can apply for H1B from Local US Embrassy..
2)At a time you cant book two appointments,if France Embrassy doesnt accept your application, they will redirect you to India(chennai nor delhi).
3)The same process even if you applying from canada..

let us say i apply in canada and there is a problem.
so they redirect me to chennai, correct?
then do i have to wait for long for an appointment in chennai or will i get one immediately?

Hi,
In India, you will qualify for an emergency appointment if you can prove to the VOs that you are a returning worker and have to report to your US employer soon. You will be eligible to go to any of the 4 consulates in India. You can certainly have 2 appointments simultaneously in France and in India. You might be successful in getting H1b stamped at France if you are there for more than 6 months as this is not your first H1B. You might also try your luck at Canada. I think if your paperwork is good, then there's no reason your visa should be refused.
