H4 Depedents travelling while amendment/extension in process

Hi,

We have approved 797A with I94 valid till end of 2017. H1/H4 is not stamped on our passport as it changed from prior L1. My husband's H1b and my H4 Amendment + extension is in process. Can H4/dependent travel plans to India when H4 extension is in progress. Can I return back with my H4 stamped once my husband's h1b gets approved with his approval.
