H1B amendment - Travel during In progress

Hi ,

I am planning to travel to india in Feb mid.
My H1B amendment was applied in July 2015 due to change in job location.
Employer, client ,Job role and resposiblities are same.
Amendment is still shown in progress.

VISA is valid till Sept 2017.
I have my old i797 and new location LCA.

Can I travel back to india & come back provided that my H1B amendment is in progress or approved while I am in india.

You can travel out of U.S. But to return back, it is advisable that you have the amended approval notice in hand.

What is amended approval notice? Is it I797?
Do we need to have original copies of this with us or soft copy print out will also work?

>>> Yes. You will get a new I-797 when the amendment gets approved.
