Re-stamping H1B Visa

Hi,
I have few doubts regarding H1B visa re-stamping.
My H1B visa is getting expired in Feb 2016. In Sept 2015 I changed my employer and have petition with the new employer till 2018 August.
I am planning to visit India in May 2016. So will I be eligible to use drop box facility or will I have to get an appointment for interview at the consulate in Chennai?
