Travel during H1b filing while still on OPT

Hello,

I would like advice on the following issue:

I have an OPT STEM extension approved till March 2017. My F-1 visa stamp is valid till May 15, 2016. I will be filing for H1b on April 1st ,2016. I was wondering if I could safely travel to India from April 2nd to April 18th 2016? Can I still enter US without any issues regarding my entry or on H1b petition?

There won't be any issues with yur re-entry in F1 since your F1 visa will be valid. However, your H1B will be filed as a COS from F1. In such case, if you leave the country after applying your H1B COS and re-enter back in F1, your COS can get denied.
