H1 Stamping for new employer after Visa Expires from Previous employer

My visa from employer A is valid through 09/2016. I am currently working for Employer B and have travelled before in and out of the country with the same visa/New I797 from Employer B. Employer B's petition is valid through 03/2018.

My question here is: Do I "Have to" go for stamping before 09/16?

If I travel in Dec 16, is it okay to go for stamping then?

Its fine to go for stamping in Dec 2016. Your valid status is determined by the I797 and associated I-94, Visa is only required to enter US.
