  • H1- B extension + 221g + Damaged Passport

I went to the US Visa application center in Nehru Place, New Delhi on 24-Feb-2016 for dropbox submission of my H1-B visa extension. On 29-Feb-2016, I received a mail stating that my passport has been returned to VAC. After collecting my passport from VAC, I noticed that I had got 221g asking for additional documents submission.
On 8-Mar-2016 I had submitted the documents requested as per 221g at the VAC.

But in the mean while, I noticed that the binding on my passport got loose(which means that the passport is damaged), so I have applied for a new passport in TATKAL and I a new passport now. Now, my questions are:

    1) Do I need to submit both the passports once my 221g is cleared?
    2) Do I need to make any changes to the existing DS-160? If yes, than what is the procedure to make the changes? Can I make changes to the existing DS-160 application online?
    3) My damaged passport still has a H1-B stamp valid till 15-Sept-2016. So can I travel to US based on this stamp while my extension has a 221g case in process?

Thanks in advance. Any help is highly appreciated.

    1. I would suggest so, would also include a cover letter explaining the circumstances and the newer passport.
    2. I dont think so.
    3. Which I797 would you show at the POE?

This is my opinion not legal advice.

Thanks for the reply Raghvi. I too have the same thoughts on all the 3 above points. I have written a mail to [email] and I am waiting for their response.
I would still request other members of the forum to write if they have had similar experience.
