H1 transfer query

Hi,

My H1b extension got approved in March 2016 but I haven't received the my latest I797. Also my current I94 and Visa stamped on my passport expired in Dec 2015. I have following queries:

1. Is it fine if my I94 and Visa stamp on my password is expired while transferring my visa to new employer?
2. I asked my current company to provide I797 but they told me that process will take around 1-2 months. What other option I have?

You need to first ensure that the latest I797 has I-94 associated with it as that will prove that you are currently in valid status which will be required for the smooth transfer.
