Can you mix H and B visa applicants (from same family) together?

Hello folks,

This is my 6th year on H1B. We are traveling to our native country for a family visit. I have I 140 approved, and stamped visa has expired (have valid I797). I need to get visa stamped before entering in the US again. I was considering getting my MIL's visa done for future. She will be on B2. I wonder if I can take her along with me and my wife (h4) for visa interview?
(Plus, MIL does not speak English and getting appointments in native language is not an easy task.)
