221(g) during H1B Interview in Chennai US consulate

Hi Good morning.

I attended USA consulate in chennai for H1B Visa interview. Prior to this I had following history.

1. I attended Canadian Consulate in India long back
2. During 2003 I travelled to USA on H1 Visa.

This time, they asked me few questions concerning to my previous travel to USA. But, finally they issued me a letter 221(g). They asked me the status of the canadian visa and they also told they would send my H1 Petition to INS.

Now, I got clarification from Canadian consulate. Now I am thinking to attend consulate again.

Can you pl. suggest the steps to follow this time?
Shall I get my H1 Petition from INS back as it's valid for some more months?
