Hello, all!
My current visa status is H1b. Meanwhile, I study as a part-time student in a Master’s degree program. Recently, I will be laid off. My company will let me work for one more month (at the end of May).
Therefore, I have applied a new I-20 from the school. The new semester will begin in September. I plan to change my visa from H1b to F1 inside the U.S.
My questions are:
1. Can I stop my work, once I submitted the F1 application to the USCIS?
2. Can I legally stay in the U.S. after I submitted the F1 application to the USCIS until my F1 got approved?
3. Do I need to change my visa to B1/B2 first, then change to F1?
Thank you so much in advance!
