H1B transfer (new employer)-need for location amendment

I am currently working as a developer in Dallas, Texas. I recently got a job with a large IT services company in Hartford,Connecticut. The H1B transfer is approved and there is no change in job location from Hartford.

The company is asking me to file for location amendment. I am unable to understand why and am trying to find out.

Do I need to file a location amendment ?

Please also let me know the circumstances under which a location amendment would be needed in cases like mine.
