Is it safe to go for H1 stamping while the amendment is in progress ?

Hello,

My H1b visa was approved in 2015 Oct and I have recently changed the Job (Employer is same and client is different). I am planning to file amendment and go to India for visa stamping. Is it safe to go while the amendment is in progress? Or do I need to file the amendment in premium and then go for stamping after getting the amendment approval ?
