transit visa reqd for amsterdam?

i am on H4..my visa in the passport has expired...i am travelling from US to india, next month via amsterdam.. i have valid h4 extension paper in hand...
in this scenario, do i need to get a transit visa for the 5 hrs stay in amsterdam airport? any help is appreciated...thanks

If you are not going out of airport area, you donot need visa. However, if you plan to go the city for short period, you will need visa.
