hi all,
I did read a few posts here, but couldn't find anyone in a similar spot. I came to the US 11years ago on a student visa (which had since expired), and haven't had since gone back to India for any visits. Soon after I came here for school, my parents moved out of the country. My siblings live in other countries. I came in 2015, and since then graduated college, got a job, and had been working ever since. I went to visit my mom and dad in January of 2009 (not in India) for about 10 days, and came back. For the first time in 11yrs, everybody from my family are getting time to visit India and I wish to visit as well along with a friend. I recently got my H1B extended, and I would require stamping from my consulate (Chennai). It's a short visit again. Is it possible for me to fly into Chennai a day before my visa interview, attend the interview, obtain the necessary stamping, obtain my passport (pick it up instead of getting mailed home), take a domestic flight next day to the city my family live and then later return back for work?
Thx
