H1B1 - Amendment required for project change?

Hi All,
I am holding special visa called H1B1 under Singapore citizen quota.

My company and LCA is based in California,
This year during February I joined new project based in Atlanta.LCA applied and approved. Amendment filed in the month of May, but no acknowledgement received from USCIS as of today ,Do I really required to file the amendment for H1B1 ? Why there is no acknowledgement from USCIS since May ?
Please help on this
