  • Am I bound to pay anything to my current Employer

Currently on H1B. I have initiated my Green process(LCA is in process, I140 not yet initiated) with Emp A. Now I am planning to quit Employer A and join Employer B. Am I bound to pay any fine or fee to Employer A for quiting him while GC labor in process. What happens to the GC when I quit Employer A?

It depends upon what your employment terms have been. If you agreed to bear the cost or some part of the cost, then yes, you may be liable. As to what will happen to it, it depends what stage it is in. PERM filed/PERM approved/I140 filed/approved etc etc.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
