Hi,
My i797 was stolen 2 days ago when someone broke into my car. I have a trip to Japan coming up which I bought air tickets and hotels for. Is there a way I can return to US with just a photo-copy of the i797? Do I absolutely need to have an original copy?
For what its worth, I have a police report and a letter from my employer stating that I will return to my job. Would appreciate any advice.
I also called Custom and Border Protection and they said that it should be fine, except they wont give me anything in writing.
