H1 to L1 Conversion after 6 years on H1 to extend stay for GC processing
Hi,
I am on H1B and will be completing my 6 years on H1B in Oct, 2016. My GC filing is initiated and PERM will be filed in EB2 category in next 1-2 weeks.
I want to know if there are any options to extend my stay here instead of having to go back and return when I140 is approved.
Can I convert from H1B to L1A to get additional year? If I do that, can I convert back to H1B once I140 is approved for extension for 3 years? I am not sure if I would be able to convert back to H1 as I would have already completed the 6 years by that time (would be into 7th year but on L1)?
What are other options to extend the stay? Any help would be appreciated.
