I'm new here so please bear with me in case this has been talked about earlier in other forums.
My wife had to quit her company mid of May (on H1 status)
i raised a request with my company to initiate an H4 conversion and also got the petition number.
Her I797 is valid until end of Aug.
She has been getting many calls since few days.
The confusion that i have now is how does it work.
her I797 is expiring in aug end.
can an employer convert her status back to H1 . If yes whats the process involved.
Also, the H4 request is filed but its in progress. What happens if she gets a job before the H4 gets approved.
Some more details: Her H1 is valid until end of 2019 following the 6 years work status.
Any help ir guidance will be really appreciated?
