  • Need Experts Help on H1B status-"Document was returned to USCIS"

    Hi Everyone,

I am working in India. My H1B application got picked in this year's (2016) lottery and the status was updated as "Case was received and a receipt notice was emailed" USCIS website in the first week of May. After that on June 3, 2016 my status was updated to "Document was returned to USCIS". I consulted my employer and their attorney said
"I think they are sending AR-11 when they send approval/receipts and it gets returned back to them." . They decided this is not necessary as i am living in India and they initimated me that they contacted USCIS and the abandoned the request. But now it is been like more than two months now and the status is still the same. When I ask the same thing to my employer, they say we have contacted but USCIS says that process has started and the status are updated by third party which is not in their hands.
My employer says that now the status might get updated only when my case is approved or if i get an RFE.

Is this normal or do i have to worry about something? Does it take this long for USCIS to update such a small thing? Or is my employer too lazy to submit what USCIS is requesting?

    Status:
"On June 3, 2016, the Post Office returned your document to us. We will hold your document for 180 days or until November 30, 2016. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we resend the document to you. If you do not submit an online request by November 30, 2016, we will destroy your document and you will need to file a new Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, with fee."
