Visa interview appointment city

Hello

Is it mandatory for a person to choose the US visa interview center based on the state of residence? For eg, if someone is staying in Haryana, is it compulsory for him/her to go to New Delhi for visa interview? Or can he/she choose to go to Kolkata as well?

You can pick any city that is more convenient for you, there is no rule on this.
