Mail from Chennai AFU for personal Interview

Hi,
I had attended personal interview twice in chennai consulate and was given 221(g) asking for dropping some documents through dropbox for 3rd time.

I had dropped the documents via VFS on March 2nd and no further info from consulate or VFS.

Today got a mail from Chennai AFU asking me to come for personal interview with the following documents on any monday.

You must bring the following documents to the interview:

* Passport (must be valid for six months at the time of application)
* Completed visa application form DS-156. Forms can be downloaded from http://travel.state.gov/visaforms.html
* For all males between the ages of 16 and 45, supplemental application form DS-157. Forms can be downloaded from http://travel.state.gov/visaforms.html
* One color visa photograph (50mm x 50mm, front-facing, white background)
* Visa issuance fee: Rs. 2,300/-
* Complete I-797, I-129 and LCA.
* Original degree certificate(s), mark sheets and work experience letters.
* A printout of this email

Could anyone throw some light as what the process is all about......

Please let me know if i would get my VISA or anyone has experienced the same and got VISA.

Any help or suggestion would be highly appreciated.

AFU (Anti Fruad Unit) basically takes care of all the verification of ur supporting documents you gave the VO.

I was in a same situation last month and I got a mail from Chennai AFU to attend for a personal interview and I got the H1B stamped without being asked a single question. I beleive they would have already taken a decision in ur case also. All the very best and have faith in GOD.

Got Stamped

As mentioned earlier i got stamping without being asked a single question but had to wait in consulate for 9 hours.... Finally dream had come true..

My Hist.... ->

I got 221G twice and third time had dropped the documents in VFS and after 22 days consulate had asked me to attend a personal interview and returned all the documents next day. Then i went with the requested documents on April 3rd and entered in at 8.30 and came out at 5.30 p.m. Though it was tough to be there so long but patience always paves way for success..

Guys if you get 221G dont worrry and any cost they cannot reject your H1 unless your employer is fraud or your documents are not proper...

Got mail from Chennai

I got the following mail from Chennai consulate on Friday MArch 27th and i was given AAP on March 14th.

Please send the following documents via mail or courier service to:

For all males between the ages of 16 and 45, supplemental application form DS-157
Forms can be downloaded from http://travel.state.gov/visaforms.html

3. One color visa photograph (50mm x 50mm, front-facing, white background)

4. Passport (must be valid for six months at the time of application)

5. Visa issuance fees: demand draft for Rs.2,300/-

6. Self-addressed sufficiently stamped envelope to return documents

7. A printout of this email

Please do not come in person.

Docs submitted earlier

Hi Friend,
I was asked for the following three things when i went for the second time...in dec

1) Signed letter from the end client supervisor

2) Detailed project description, timeline, status, no of emp in project and marketing analysis

3) Notarized letter for not good standing rating in the state of IL (from the client)

When my approached the client he was not in a position to give the third letter and the project was dropped. Then i got thru another project and dropped the following docs.

1) Original letter from end client supervisor with my responsiblities mentioned

2) Purchase order and contract docs from the staffing vendor with project details.

3) Covering letter from my employer as to why we had submitted a new set of documents

And i didn't have marketing analysis as i am Network Administrator and not engaged in product devt...

After submitting these Finally got a mail from Chennai AFU for personal interview which is mentioned in the first thread...

Hi Sam,
I had seen couple of people with the same kind of mail yesterday and they were also given visa.

In your case it means that they had verified all the details and your visa is approved for sure.

Need not worry send all the requested documents and get your visa stamped...

congratulations,i have seen ur mails.i went to h4 stamping on nov30'05 they have given 221(g) additional adminstrative processing.last month in my husband's client place verification had done,manager said "he worked here,now he is no more".that time my husband moved from consultancy to full time(direct)company.before changing to direct company my husband sent mail to consulate about his h1 transfer status.will consulate consider this mail.till now i didn't get any call/mail from consulate.do u have any idea about this.

Hi Friends,
Here are the details...

For H1b Guest -> i submitted my passport along with client documents in dropbox but prob they wanted to verify my degree cert, marksheets and experience letters which i didn't submit in dropbox..

They verified when i went personally..

For bunny-> Another friend of mine had the same problem and got her visa after she produced the recent I797 document of the new employer where her husband had joined. You would have carried the I797 document of your husbands previous employer and ask your husband to consult attorney for getting the new I797 after H1 transfer.

I am not sure whether if that case applies to you too but no harm in trying out and by the way did you received any communication from the consulate about AAP....

You should get it as consulate is seriously considering H1 and related issues.

thanks for ur quick reply.is ur friend's wife had given aap?in my case vo took all my documents and had given 221(g) aap.1 month back verification also over but till now they didn't give any reply.so we are in confusion that shall we have to wait for consulate reply or take new h4 stamping appointment with new employer's h1 papers.if i go like this is it cause any problem for my visa.we have every documents clear and genune. why they are not giving any response after successful verification really we are in very much confusing.

Hi bunny

My friend was given 221G query but not AAP. She took the requested documents along with blue form which VO had asked and was given VISA without any question. Regarding new appointment I am not sure if you could apply for a fresh appointment. The best thing would be to consult any immigration officer or attornet who has up to date info about consulate process.

If your verification was done month back then you should hear in couple of weeks time....

I have sent all the above documents on March 31st and as per the courier status it has been delivered to the Chennai consulate on April 3th and now its April 10th, almost 7 days and i have not got any reply from them, after how many days will i get my passport stamped? Should i think that my visa is approved?

How should i contact to know the status of the my documents and passport at chennai consulate.

Let me know the EMail id and Contact number of chennai consulate.

Hi,

I have sent the requested documents and the passport and DD to the chennai consulate using BLUE DART courier service, as in the mail nowhere they had mentioned to drop it to VFS or courier it to through VFS. Sending it through BLUE DART courier is it a problem? Please let me know. I have not yet received my documents and passport back.
