I am currently on H1B. I am thinking to move to H4 EAD. (COS from H1B to H4EAD). I have following questions -
1) Do employers prefer hiring H1B over H4EAD given the same skill level? Is there a benefit/disadvantage to the employer if they have employee on H1B/H4EAD?
2) Are people on H4EAD considered for full time hires? or H4EAD is best for contracting jobs?
I have an acquaintance who recently got hired as a full time employee. She was on H4EAD however her employer asked her to move to H1B. (She was on H1B prior to H4EAD and had few years left on H1B ). Is this usual for companies to prefer H1B over H4EAD?
I am trying to understand if I am limiting my employment opportunities by moving from H1 to H4EAD.
3) What is current time required to convert from H1B to H4EAD?
