Getting married in India and need to travel when H1 is yet to be picked in lottery

Greetings,

My employer will file for H1 in 2017 but I am getting married in April..I have my Opt extension until June 2018.If H1 is getting picked in lottery,is it safe to travel to India?.Snce we are not sure when the results are out from lottery I really couldn't predict what the situation is?

Is it safe to travel when H1 is just picked in lottery with valid OPT extension..Please advice as many things are involved here.

If H1 is filed as COS, it will be abandoned if you leave country. In that case, your H1 may still be approved but you have to reapply for COS when your H1 is approved.
