H1B Visa Approved but online status shows Administrative Processing

Visa approved at the window but no status update

Hi,

Consulate: Mumbai
Interview date: Dec 28, 2017
Last status update: Dec 28, 2017
Interviewing officer asked 5-6 simple questions and I was told my visa is approved and passport will be made available in 4-5 business days.
Today is the 4th business day and status still shows "administrative processing" and "passport still with the US embassy"
Flying out on Jan 9, hopefully that happens.

Anyone in a similar situation with the Mumbai consulate?

VO - asked five questions like Job location, company, experience, and highest degree and school name( i did MS in the US) - Answered all the questions and interviewer said we need to update your school info in records so I'm creating a case number(221G form) and check your emails in next few days

Today's date is Jan 6th and my flight is on Jan 11th

The status still shows as 'application received'. Yes, approved at the window and no 221g.
I see many people have experienced this delay some have posted and I we can guess there are many others who haven't shared their experiences.

Today's date is Jan 6th and my flight is on Jan 11th

I would recommend you to postpone your flight ticket to atleast 2 weeks from Jan 2nd 2018. I'm in the same boat as you. Double Masters, FullTime Job, everything clean and attended interview on Dec 28th when I actually dropped off my application on Dec 13th. I had to cancel my return flight for December 27th. Since I'm unsure of when I would get my passport back I didn't book my return flight yet.

I gave my h1b interview on Dec 7th in Delhi. There has been no status update till now. VO said I’ll get within a week, took my passport and gave me no 221g

Hey! I’m in the same boat for Delhi for a F1 renewal. 4th year phd , got a MS from the States too. Social science major so no technology-related interests. I had to fly back on the 10th but have had to postpone my flight. Any update on yours?

VO approves my visa and wife received her H4 stamped passport in next couple of days but I am still waiting my passport. Visa interview - Nov 8th 2017 , Location - Delhi . Last Updated - 22 Dec ( it was Nov 8 till yday). Status - Admin Processing. Any inputs /suggestion guys. o know many of us are in similar boat ,just checking if any one has any idea on what this update means?

Hey, any updates to your case? Mine still shows AP dated the day of the interview. :/
