Response : 221g yellow slip (submit documents)
Document submission : 14th December
Case Status: Administrative Processing
Case Updated : Not yet, still shows 12th december date, not 14th.
I am working for my current company for 7 years as a full time employee. But I did not visit india for 8 years so my last stamped visa is from previous company for whom I came to US. I was asked to submit all I797 and proof of legal stay in U.S. I have submitted all I-797 and tax documents. Cancelled returned ticket and waiting. My case number on 221g is 12 digit and it does not work for getting the status. I use my DS-160 application number to track status which shows "Admin Processing"

Status changed for the first time today; back to AP
Date of interview: Dec 28, 2017 (Mumbai; H1-B)
Status: AP as of Dec 28, 2017
First status change: Jan 09, 2018 (still shows AP; took 7 business days)
(Visa approved at window, no 221g)
From this what I can infer is that they've just started looking into my application, unless someone else here has a better idea of what this can mean.
Flight back to US for today already cancelled, hopefully it changes to 'ISSUED' within this week!

F1 renewal interview at New Delhi on 26th December. AP since then. Visa was approved at window. First status change since 26th was yesterday, i.e., 8th January. Still AP. Don’t know what it means or when it’ll be issued. Had to fly back tonight - clearly that’s not happening. Anyway - best of luck with your case! And fingers crossed for mine , I guess !

It has been 11 calendar days and the update date finally changed this afternoon to Jan 9, status is still AP. I have never been more annoyed by any visa process. Hope the status changes to issued and passport comes back this week. Already canceled the flights.

221(g) after vo approved
Originally posted by tensedp View PostInterview date - Dec 18
Interviewer said- Visa approved
Cancelled ticket once.
Still waiting. Emailed consulate and heard that case is pushed into 221g.
Interview date 2 January, VO said approved but ceac tracker said under administrative processing since then, I called the consulate to know the status and they told me its now under 221(g) nd no further documents are required.
What is the update on your case? And what is the timeline you are expecting for your visa to be cleared

122 days in AP and counting
My husband had his (first time H1B stamping) visa interview in Cairo on 9/11/2017 and his status was AP ever since. No update, no date change, and no RFE. We tried getting help from our congressman, contacting DOS, trying to get information from the embassy... None of them worked.
He was asked to fill out the extreme vetting form even before his interview. This form asked for all email addresses and social media handles within the past 10 years. Luckily he never had any social media accounts in his life, but do they really go through every single email (which would explain the time it's taking)? :/
Did any of you have to fill out this extreme vetting form and how long your AP took to be resolved?
Did any of you have any recent H1B stamping experience in Cairo which may give us some insights?
