Stuck in admin processing's opaque process

Location: New Delhi
Interview Date: Feb 4th
Status: Admin Processing (H1B)
Case updates: Feb 4th, Feb 15th, and Feb 24th


I initially submitted the document (dropbox) on Jan 28th. I received a letter to appear for an interview on Feb 3rd and appeared for an interview on Feb 4th.
While my case date has been updated 3 times in the past 3 weeks, there has been no change in the case itself.
Anyone in the same boat with the location as New Delhi?

Just recieved an update on my case. The new status is 'ISSUED'.
'Your visa is in final processing. If you have not received it in more than 10 working days, please see the webpage for contact information of the embassy or consulate where you submitted your application.
For more information, please visit U.S. Embassy New Delhi.'


I hope it will not take 10 days to actually get my passport. Anyone else experienced the same? Some more info could help. Does anyone know how much time does it generally take from here.

Uh yeah...I attended my interview on December 6th, visa approved and I'm still waiting in this Administrative Processing nonsense.

Don't worry yet, it's only been 3 working days for you. I've been monitoring people's cases on here since December 6th. Some people are still stuck like me since December, others have been getting their passports anywhere from a week to 2 weeks to 3 weeks. There is absolutely no telling when you may get your passport back. Hopefully you're one of the lucky ones who gets it within a week or so. Good luck!

Congratulations! You're one of the lucky ones, it only took 3 weeks for you! It shouldn't take 10 days, you should get it this week. My friend went to the Delhi consulate in December, once her visa was issued it took her 2 days to get her passport back.

I got my passport today. Apparently, it was faster than what I thought. Thanks everyone.

Still nothing! Got the same generic response to my email today. It's now been over 10 weeks since my status was last updated to Administrative Processing on 12th December. They have not asked for any documents or information. Visa approved and then put your life on hold.

The 60 days wait period is over. No updates to the case since Dec 14th. Emailed consulate. Lets see.

I wrote to the consulate last week on Wednesday. I got the same generic response on Thursday. My employer also wrote to the consulate. But still nothing, no idea how much longer it'll take :/

Yeah, seems like this has been happening to a lot of people randomly, even for those who were told the visa was approved at the interview.

Do you know if they've contacted your employer for some sort of employment verification?

I haven't heard anything from my employer regarding this. I am still shocked of this delay after 4 months of H1b extension review.

Oh yes, I know what you mean. First they take so long back in the US and now another delay on this visa processing. One of my extensions took nearly 7 months before we paid for premium processing. And now I've been waiting for the visa processing that they approved at the interview since December. I don't understand how they can leave people in limbo, especially those who have already been living and working in the US.

My employer also never got any sort of employment verification inquiry. So they and the lawyers say most likely it's just random security testing but again no one knows for sure and no one knows how long it could take either, especially since the government was also shut down for a month.
