Please provide the clarification for the below point queries for this issue. My petition is approved , however visa stamping is still pending.
• can I go ahead for correcting (renew) the passport for surname update and get the new passport. If I do so, will I- 797 and I-94 have impact?
• Currently in I 797, the name is printed as “xxxxxxxx, No given Name” since there is no surname in current passport . if I get a new passport with surname update, it is mandatory to update the same in I797 as well ?
• With new passport and old I-797 , Can I go ahead for Visa stamping?

• Or else , should I go ahead for visa stamping with blank surname on passport and I797 ?
