H1B Visa I94 Extension

Hi,

I am on H1B Visa valid until 2017 March. I switched my employer and got new I979 approved until Jan'2019 with my I-94. After approval I traveled to India and came back my I-94 number changed and valid until 2017 March.

Can I legally stay in US with my old I-94(Jan 2019) even after new I-94(March 2017) expires? or i need to extended my I-94 again?

Please advice!

No you can't. At POE, Did you show the I797 from new Employer? To fix this, you can visit CBP office at airport with the documentation. There is no guarantee that they will correct the date. Alternatively, you have to apply H1 extension OR leave states and enter with new H1 stamped.
