Travelling to Mexico while extension is pending

Hi, I am traveling to Mexico for one week.

My employer has filed h1b extension/amendment as there is a location change.However My current I-797 and Visa is still valid till March 2018.

1. can I travel to mexico and reenter US with Old visa which is unexpired?
2. Will the extension that is pending will impact my reentering to US?
3. Will my Visit to mexico affects the extension application?

I would not advise a travel out of US at this stage.
