Firstly thanks to this huge forum of experiences which helped me in preparing for my interview.
The amount of information I had to process before the interview, made me nervous & also made me be through in all aspects.
Let me detail my experience.
Applied for H1B (3rd time lucky as I was not picked up in earlier 2 lotteries)
Filled up DS-160s on DEC-15-2016 & was hoping to get the interview dates by JAN-5-2017.
Note:
I applied for dependents as well. So total 4 applications.
But finally got below below dates:
FINGER PRINTS (BIO-METRICS):
Date: JAN-10-2017
Location: Chennai.
Note: The address that gets printed in the appointment letter is too vague. It just says No.82 Kodambakkam high road. For people in Hyderabad, it will be like No.10 Ameerpet & for Bangalore people, it will be like No.33 Brigade road
Documents to carry: No matter what others say, these are the only documents that were asked of me & even people around me.
1. DS-160 confirmation page (Primary applicants & all dependents)
2. Appointment letter
3. Latest passport.
Mobile Phones:
You can carry, but keep them switched off all the time inside the premises
Experience:
So I had to take my car previous day (around 10 PM) to scout the location & finally got it mapped.
It is actually inside GOOD SHEPHERD SQUARE. (It has Samsung Plaza in front). One needs to enter the building from the backside.
Scheduled time was 9:15 AM, reached there by 8 AM (so that I can park in near by streets)
8:15 AM Outer security guard allowed me inside the basement (which is car parking area and is actually a ground floor) & I was standing in a queue till 8:45 AM in the basement of the building.
8:45 AM, I went to 1st floor where there will be a small queue
EMBASSY INTERVIEW:
ohh shoot, my system crashed after typing 20 lines, auto-save worked only till above line. Will keep this updated
