Successful Dropbox stamping- Mumbai

Got my visa stamped through dropbox last week.
Used dropbox to submit documents on 6th feb.
Case created on 7th.
status showed Under admin. processing until 13th.
My wife's H-4 application status got updated first.
After couple of hours mine got updated to "issued".
Since i live in mumbai, my passport was ready for pick up by the end of day.
I am a direct employee with an approved I140 from previous employer.

Hope this helps to people trying to get a sense of the current situation.

Port or entry (Chicago) was equally smooth. Didn't even ask for my I797, However the POE officer was typing continuously for an unusual amount of time, even apologied for the wait.

My wife had last H4 stamping in mumbai. However, I had H1B stamped in Canada.
Also, I have recently changed my employer.
When I am trying to schedule interview in mumbai, I am not getting dropbox option. So, as my wife, though her previous stamping was in mumbai.
Is dropbox still available?

Dropbox is still available for qualified candidates, however you should call and verify (which is what i did) .

I don't think you would qualify since your previous stamp was not from india.


Eligibility Criteria for all applicants:

I have a previous U.S. visa in the same class as the visa for which I wish to renew
My most recent visa was issued in India
I received my visa after August 1, 2004 but before January 2, 2008
My prior visa is not annotated “Clearance Received” or “Department Authorization”.
My most recent visa (in the same class for which I am applying) was issued on or after my 14th birthday
I have no refusals for a visa in any category after my most recent visa issuance
If I am applying for an H or L (individual) or R visa, my prior visa in the same class is still valid or expired within the last 12 months.

Hi Suhaan,
Thanks for the posting,it helped a lot.
Based on the Dropbox eligibility conditions,I am eligible for Interview Waiver Drop Box.
I have filled,DS-160,paid Visa fee and Receipts activated.
Now when I tried to schedule appointment, asking me to choose to location/date/time.Till this time, I didn't get any questions about dropbox eligibility. I am going to get these quations once i selected the appoinment Date/Time?.
