Passport Renewal(in India) with H4 stamping on it

Hi All,
Could you please help me in Renewing the Passport that already has H4 Visa.

My family is currently in India and planning ot travel to US in next month. She has got H4 Visa in the last month and applied for passport renewal as it is getting expired in next 6 months.

Question: Do we need to go for re-stamping with new passport(the visa is valid till Sep 2008 on existing passport)? Do they return old&new passports as well.

Please help me...

On renewal, you get old and new passport stapled together so that you can use visa from old passport
