H4 to F1
Hi, I'm in US on H4 currently. My H4 is valid till 04/2017. My H4 extension application and my husband's H1b extension application have been already received by USCIS on Jan 5th'2017. Currently I'm enrolled in MS (computer science) and in my second semester as a full time student. I'm planning to graduate in Dec'2017 and start working on OPT. I have following doubts regarding my visa change of status.
1) Is it possible for me to apply for F1 change of status now (in March'2017), while my H4 extension has already been applied and H4 visa is getting expired soon (in April' 2017).Is there any risk here?
2) Is it mandatory to be on F1 visa and full time student (both applied) for one year? Or is it possible to be a full time student for a year and be on F1 visa only in the last semester to be able to apply for OPT?
