I work with employer A here in India and have got my H1B approved and stamped.
I have not travelled to US yet.
My LCA has current client's address (Sunnyvale, CA).
Last year, client has opened another office in San Jose, CA and my project team members moved to this location.
Comparing both addresses on map, its around 8 miles apart. This comes under same MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) which doesn't need amendment.
Even though my employer and client are still the same, my immigration team stopped my travel saying amendment is required as there is a material change (location).
If I read and understand USCIS page around this topic, I don't need to go for amendment.
If there is any lawyer or anyone who knows more clearly around this topic, please let me know.
