queries Regarding Travel while H1B extension

I have travel planned in April 1st week

My employer will be filing premium for me in next week i.e. week of 20th.My family is already in India
Visa/I-94 is valid till Sept 2017
My employer says once we get approved petition, he'll mail me to India

Questions:

1. Can i travel to India

2. While coming back, if in any case petition gets late, can i show old existing petition which is valid till Sept 2017.

3. If officer asks has extension applied, what should i answer.

I am assuming extension could be in pending status or will be approved, Then i would say employer has filed an extension and is already in pending status. If approved, then i would be having scanned copy of approved petition receipt, then could say it has been approved and i do have scanned copy of it. Once i join back, will get original one.

could you please confirm one thing,

I have my current petition valid till 12th Sept
New extended will come which will be valid from 13th Sept. I am travelling to India, so attorney can only send me a copy of extended approval notice as I would be coming back on 22nd April and by then it will not reach India

At POE, Do I have to show current original one and copy if they ask. as for extended approval notice would be valid from 13th Sept, So copy would be fine for future period.

Yes show the current one, and if the question regarding extension comes up you can show them a copy of it, and if the question comes up you can tell them as to why you do not have the original of the extension. Frankly, I do not expect the question of the extension to come up at all.
