can i apply for H1 while i am in Us on B1?

Hi,

I am currently in the US on a Business Visa( B1)
Is it OK for my company to apply for an H1 for me while i am in the US?

Is there any kind of US law which says that a H! cannot be filed for me until i return back to India since i am here on B1?

Please help urgently.

Hi,
It is possible. Its also strongly suggested that instead of the H1B being filed with a Change of Status petition, re-enter US with a stamping. This way you will save a lot of trouble on future US Visa stampings.
