    Apply for Green Card if H1b rejected

    Hi,

    I am currently on F1 status. I finished my master's last year in the US and have been working on OPT. I filed a petition for H1 this year but just in case, if it doesn't get picked in the lottery, can i directly file for green card? Are these independent of each other or do i need H1 before filing green card? Please guide.
