Urgent-H1B stamping when passport is about to expire in 1 year

Currently I am on L1B and my visa is expiring in Sept this year.

I do have an approved H1B petition which is valid till Sept, 2018. I am planning to stamp the H1B soon.

I realized that my passport is expiring in May, 2018.

Now if I go for a stamping rite now, will they give me Visa only till my passport expiry date or will they still stamp the visa till Sept, 2018 since H1B petition is valid until sep, 2018.

It all dependent on the visa officer, but most of case they will give visa stamped till passport expiry date . But stamped visa is required for travelling to US , Once you receahed US your I-797 and I-94 is important even if your visa is expired. This will have impact only if you planning to travel outside US. This is not legal advise just my opinion .
