plz suggest better answer

Hi ALL

2 years back I was holding H1 Visa but did not travel to US till now( that visa got expired).Now I have applied for new H1 and I need to go for stamping.
What should I reply if the consulate pesron asks me about my previous H1 and the reasons of not travel to US.
Will this matter effects my stamping?

- the exact reason being, there was a slump in that period and my comany was not in a position to put me in any project.
