Simultaneously apply H1 and H4

My spouse is going for her H4 visa appt in June. Meanwhile i would like to apply for H1 now, which would start in Oct 2006(guess).

would applying for H1 cause any problem for her H4 interview ??.
would the interviewing officer know that she has applied for a H1 ?


My assumption here is the H1 processing woould take atleast 2 months by then she will be on h4 and in US.

If you wife is going on H4 visa in June then can come in US on that Visa, they will give I-94 depending on the H4 visa, so she will be on H4 visa in US. Thinking that if you are applying for her H1 now then you when she is in India then she can work only when stamping is done for that H1. In between she comes to US on H4 then her status is on H4 only as they will be given I-94 depending on H4 visa.
