Stamping and H1b Transfer

I will be getting my H1b visa stamped in India soon and i have made all the travel arragments. In the meanwhile another company has better job and want transfer the H1b asap. What is the best way out ?

Can i go -get my visa stamped from company A
and while still in india, apply for h1b transfer to company B ?
will i have problems at port-of-entry ?
Can you apply for H1b Transfer while outside the country ?

No, firstly you cannot apply for H1 transfer to Company without actually working for Company A. You need to be in US to apply for H1 transfer.

The best bet would be to check with Company B if they would wait for few months. If they can wait, you could come to US through Company A, work with them for few months, say 2-3 months, and then file for H1 transfer to Company B.

Alternatively, you could ask Company B to file a new H1 petition for you in 2007 quota, once approved you can come to US & start working for Company B from Oct 2007.
