New company while H1B transfer in progress for long time

Greetings.

My current H1B transfer started in March'17 and still in progress. RFE was received and it was responded within time. But, there is no progress after that, it is not moving at all.
I received a new offer in the meantime. But, new company is hesitant to start transfer as RFE was received in current transfer. My I94 is valid till Oct'18.

Do you see any issues in this new transfer? Please advise.

So you are currently working for the employer without an underlying I797 approval notice?

Yes, I joined current employer on receipt notice.
